Mario A. Robinson received his formal art education at Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, New York. In 1994, his work, which
is largely afro-centric, began to incorporate rural subjects primarily located in the northern region of Alabama.
He is proficient in various mediums, including pastels, watercolor, and graphite. Robinson's finished works bear a close
affinity to the masters of the realist tradition, Andrew Wyeth and Thomas Eakins.
Robinson's work has been featured in The Pastel Journal, The Artist's Magazine and the cover of American Artist magazine.
His public collections include The Arkansas Art Center, MBNA corporate collection and Philander Smith College. He currently lives in New
Jersey and works in New York.
