Jory Glazener
Jory Glazener was born in England in 1974. He spent his childhood drawing and copying the works of great artists. He attended the University of Texas at Austin, studying business and economics, where he earned Dean's List status. After graduating, he worked as an analyst dealing with ‘Initial Public Offerings’ and ‘Mergers and Acquisitions’ within the technology and telecom industries.
Jory began his formal artistic training as a student of Ben Long's school in Asheville, N.C. and soon after began an apprenticeship with him painting frescos in the United States and Italy. Traveling has always been an important part of Jory’s life and after multiple extended stays in Italy, he decided to relocate and set up a small studio in Florence. Jory continued his formal artistic education studying for one year at the Florence Academy of Art and another year with Sergey Chubirko at the Russian Academy of Art.
For the last decade, he has been living in Tuscany, continuing his personal artistic studies and traveling around the world painting and drawing outdoors. His current work and study is heavily focused on color, working directly from nature in 2-3 hour segments. Jory and his wife Tamara have a son, moss, and are eagerly expecting the arrival of a second boy in June.
